BUG-REPORT WML 2.1a1: .wmlrc ignored?

OK, and here's the first bug report:

WML 2.1a1 seems to ignore all .wmlrc files. Neither my -I directives
nor --verbose are noticed when appearing inside a .wmlrc file in the
same directory as the wml file is located as well as inside .wmlrc
files somewhere else between / and that directory.

Oh, and here's the systems data:
